Is the NIO ET7 a good executive EV in 2026?

The ET7 is NIO's executive sedan flagship until the ET9 arrives in volume. It targets the E-segment traditionally owned by BMW, Mercedes and Audi.
Powertrain and range
480 kW dual-motor, 3.8s 0–100. 75 / 100 / 150 kWh packs. Air suspension standard.
The 150 kWh semi-solid pack (energy density ~360 Wh/kg) is the standout — 1,050 km CLTC, ~880 km real-world at 110 km/h.
Executive-car credentials
Rear-seat comfort, active noise cancellation, and Dolby Atmos 23-speaker audio put it on par with EQS on the interior. Rear leg-room is best-in-class.
NOMI in-car assistant with LLM integration handles calendar, navigation and climate. Better than BMW's iDrive 9 on natural-language.
Weaknesses
Boot is a sedan (not liftback) — narrow opening. If you carry luggage often, ET5 Touring or EL7 SUV is more practical.
Depreciation is steep in year 1 (as with all premium EVs). Consider a used ET7 with 20–30k km at 55–60% of new price.
- 01Real BMW i5 rival at ~65% of the price.
- 02150 kWh pack removes range anxiety entirely.
- 03Buy used 12-month-old for the best value.
