Is the Xiaomi SU7 available outside China and is it worth waiting for?

The SU7 broke Chinese EV records for pre-orders and completely rewired expectations for what a first-generation product could be. Here's what non-China buyers need to know in 2026.
Why the hype is (mostly) justified
Standard: 73.6 kWh LFP, 700 km CLTC (~560 km WLTP), 220 kW. Pro: 94.3 kWh NCM, 830 km CLTC. Max: 101 kWh, 800V, 495 kW, 2.78s 0–100. Ultra (2025): 1,138 kW tri-motor, sub-2s.
The chassis was benchmarked against the Taycan and Model S; the software is the best-integrated in-cabin experience in the market thanks to HyperOS bridging phone, tablet and car.
When can you actually buy one abroad?
Xiaomi has committed to a European launch in late 2027, with Germany, the Netherlands and Norway as beachheads. Homologation is underway. No firm dates for the UK, ASEAN or the Middle East yet.
Parallel imports from China exist today but carry three risks: no local warranty, no local software support, and 10% EU tariff + 17% counter-tariff exposure.
What to consider instead now
If you want the SU7 experience today: Zeekr 007 (same segment, on sale in EU), Xpeng P7+ (same 800V charging, XNGP), or BYD Seal Performance (best value).
Waiting is defensible if you specifically want HyperOS/Xiaomi ecosystem integration — nobody else offers this.
- 01Official EU sales from late 2027.
- 02Parallel import possible but not recommended.
- 03Zeekr 007 is the closest today-available substitute.
