Do Chinese EVs support V2L, V2H and V2G?

Bidirectional charging is the sleeper feature that Chinese OEMs quietly lead on. Here's what each capability means and which cars have it.
V2L — power tools, camping, appliances
The car acts as a giant portable battery. Plug a Schuko/Type G adapter into the charge port and get 2.2–6.6 kW of 230V AC.
Every major Chinese EV supports it: Atto 3 (3 kW), Seal (3.3 kW), Dolphin (3.3 kW), NIO ET5 (5 kW), Xpeng G6 (3.3 kW), Zeekr 001 (3.3 kW). Li Auto EREVs support it while the engine runs — effectively an unlimited generator.
V2H — power your house in a blackout
Requires a bidirectional wallbox and vehicle CCS2 or CHAdeMO support. BYD Atto 3 in Australia supports V2H via Wallbox Quasar 2. Xpeng and NIO announced 2026 rollouts in Netherlands and Norway.
V2G — sell energy back to the grid
Requires certified wallbox + supplier V2G tariff. Octopus Power Pack (UK) supports Atto 3 today. Utrecht V2G pilot supports NIO ET5. Financial benefit: £400–800/year for a 60 kWh pack cycled 200 times.
- 01V2L is universal — plug in a kettle at a campsite.
- 02V2H rollout accelerating in EU/AU markets.
- 03V2G still niche but real revenue for high-mileage users.
